Setting: Mainstream Primary School (Working Within a Specialist SEND Classroom)

We are recruiting a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a thriving mainstream primary school in Leyland, working within a specialist SEND classroom supporting pupils with a variety of additional learning and developmental needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping children overcome barriers to learning.

• Provide one-to-one and small-group SEND support.
• Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum effectively.
• Support communication, sensory, and emotional needs.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and specialist professionals.
• Promote independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours.
• Contribute to pupil progress monitoring and support plans.

• Previous experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or similar role.
• Understanding of SEND strategies and inclusive education practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Positive, nurturing, and proactive attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
