Summary The children,staffand governing body of Royles Brook Primary School, are looking to appoint a skilled,enthusiastic and highly motivated Teaching Assistant who will be a role model for our children and support them to achieve the best possible outcomes. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our pupils.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the class teacher in the delivery of engaging and effective lessons.
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils, including those with special educational needs.
  • Being a positive role model within our school family.
  • Supporting pupil behaviour and promoting a positive learning atmosphere. The successful candidate will:
  • Be committed to upholding our school valuesandethos.
  • Have experience of supporting children with SEND.
  • Have experience in supporting learning and development of children and be willing to undertakeadditionaltraining.
  • Build strong and positive relationships with the children, classteacherand families.
  • Enhance the learning opportunities for the children.
  • Welfare Assistant duties are included within this roll.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to ensure continuity of learning and quality first teaching.

This will be a fixed term contract, subject to funding.

The role is 27 hours and 30 minutes per week.

This will include lunchtime cover.

This position is part time, term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro –rata basis.

Essential Qualifications
  • NVQ level 2 or above qualification –appropriate to the post (or equivalent)
Essential Experience
  • Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age
  • Experience of working in a relevant classroom/service environment
Desirable Experience
  • Experience of administrative work
  • Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
