We are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Functional Skills Maths Tutor to support delivery across Blackburn with Darwen.

We are specifically seeking a tutor with excellent subject knowledge and a proven track record of delivering Functional Skills Maths to adult learners, helping them to develop confidence, achieve qualifications and progress into further learning, employment or apprenticeships.

Experience of delivering ICT/Digital Skills qualifications or non-accredited courses would be a beneficial.

Delivery of our provision takes place within our learning centres and across a wide range of community venues, partner organisations and schools.

We are looking for someone who can:

• Design and deliver engaging, innovative and inclusive teaching and learning.
• Motivate, support and challenge learners to achieve their full potential.
• Deliver Functional Skills Maths from Entry Level through to Level 2.
• Assess learner progress effectively and provide constructive feedback.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of learner needs and abilities.
• Support learners to develop their confidence, employability and everyday maths skills.
• Deliver ICT/Digital Skills courses where required (desirable).

The successful candidate will have experience of working within adult and community learning and a good understanding of quality assurance processes, including:

• Observations of Teaching, Learning and Assessment (OTLAs).
• Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement (RARPA).
• Learner assessment, tracking and target setting.

A good understanding of Ofsted's Further Education and Skills (FE&S) inspection framework and quality requirements.

• Experience of delivering Functional Skills Maths.
• A recognised teaching qualification.
• Strong classroom management and learner engagement skills.
• Experience of teaching adult learners.
• Commitment to high-quality teaching, learning and assessment.
