Part Time - Term time only 35 hrs per week

The Role

We are looking to appointan individual with the skills, knowledge and experience to champion and support the most disadvantaged students by ensuring that all barriers to academic progress are removed.

The role requires you to act, where necessary, in the role of a mentor in terms of supporting high engagement with all elements of the Study Programme and a positive attitude to learning.

The role complements the work undertaken by other cross-college support teams and will requirea high levelof communication particularly with the Tutor team and the Learning Support and Student Engagement Team.

This role is ideal for anyone who has the desire to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our most disadvantaged young people by ensuring that each has a comprehensive and individualised package of support.

Successful candidates will beallocatedtothe English and Maths Department

What we are looking for
  • Youshould have agood standard of general education includinga level 2 qualification

    English and maths (or equivalent) and experience of,oranaspiration towards working with young people (16-19).
  • You will needthe flexibility,enthusiasm and the ability to relate well to staff and students and the ability to form andmaintainappropriate relationships and personal boundaries with young people.
  • Excellent communication skills,interpersonal and organisationalabilitiesand Experience of working successfully as part of a team are also essential.
