A friendly and supportive primary school in the Oldham area is seeking a Year 6 Teacher to join its team for one day per week, starting as soon as possible and continuing until Christmas. The school is ideally located for commuters, with excellent transport links from North Manchester, Rochdale, Tameside, Saddleworth and the surrounding Greater Manchester areas.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher seeking a flexible and rewarding role within a welcoming school community.
Year 6 Teacher - the roleTeaching a Year 6 class for one day per week from ASAP until Christmas
Planning and delivering engaging and inclusive Upper Key Stage 2 lessons
Supporting pupils with the Year 6 curriculum and preparing them for the transition to secondary school
Creating a positive and supportive classroom environment
Assessing and monitoring pupil progress
Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and colleagues
Contributing to the wider life of the school
Welcoming and inclusive primary school community
Supportive senior leadership team
Collaborative and friendly staff culture
Strong focus on pupil wellbeing and achievement
Well-established routines and positive behaviour culture
Easily accessible location with excellent commuter links across Greater Manchester
Supportive classroom staff and resources available
UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching within Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
Strong knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Passion for creating engaging learning opportunities
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
Enthusiastic, committed and adaptable approach to teaching
Availability to work one day per week until Christmas

The successful candidate will have a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidelines.
