About the school

Bay Leadership Academy is a secondary school for 11 to 16 year olds in Morecambe. The school joined Star Academies in 2018 and has a leadership specialism. It was rated good in all four areas of the inspection framework during its inspection in October 2022. The school is ambitious with high expectations for all pupils. It provides a knowledge-based academic curriculum alongside a rich and diverse leadership programme that grows character and inspires charitable and social action.

The

role

We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to pupils at Bay Leadership Academy. The successful candidate will be committed to making a positive difference to young people’s lives and to supporting and developing their learning. The role will help enable an outstanding learning environment, providing the support pupils need to succeed.

The position requires a committed team player with excellent organisational and technical skills, the ability to effectively support learning and teaching, and the capacity to develop relationships across the school and the Star community.

Proposed start date:
Tuesday, 01 September 2026.

Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with children in a school setting.
  • The ability to maintain positive relationships with students and other adults.
  • The ability to work with pupils on a one-to-one basis, in small groups and with whole classes.
