SEND Teaching Assistant - Specialist School Experience Full-Time & Long-Term Opportunities Aspire People
Aspire People are recruiting experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils across specialist and mainstream schools. We are looking for candidates who have professional experience working with children and young people with additional needs and understand the importance of individualised support.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who has previously worked within a specialist SEND school, resource provision, or a mainstream setting supporting pupils with complex needs.
The Role:- Providing dedicated 1:1 and small-group support
- Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, communication needs and learning difficulties
- Working with pupils who require personalised learning and support strategies
- Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour and social development
- Assisting pupils to access learning and develop independence
- Implementing individual support plans and strategies
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and wider support teams
- Supporting personal care where required
- Professional experience working with children or young people with SEND
- Previous experience within a specialist SEND school or specialist provision
- Strong 1:1 support experience
- Confident supporting pupils with complex or additional needs
- Understanding of safeguarding and positive behaviour strategies
- Calm, patient and resilient approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
