Aspire People is recruiting an experienced SEN Teacher to work within a specialist provision supporting pupils with autism, anxiety-related needs and barriers to accessing traditional classroom learning.

This role is ideal for a teacher who thrives in a highly personalised environment where relationship-building, emotional regulation and individualised learning are at the heart of the curriculum. Pupils are academically able to access elements of a semi-formal or formal curriculum but often require significant support to manage anxiety, confidence and school engagement. ECTs are welcome to apply.

You will teach a small class of pupils who benefit from a highly nurturing, structured and personalised approach. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering learning that builds confidence and encourages pupils to re-engage positively with education.

Many learners will require support with emotional regulation, self-esteem, social interaction and confidence-building alongside their academic development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Support pupils with autism, anxiety and associated SEND
  • Develop strategies to improve engagement, attendance and participation
  • Create a safe and nurturing learning environment
  • Support pupils to achieve EHCP outcomes
  • Work closely with support staff, therapists and families
  • Promote independence, resilience and confidence
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate assessment records
Who We're Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching pupils with autism and/or SEND
  • Strong understanding of emotionally based school avoidance and anxiety
  • Patient, resilient and relationship-focused approach
  • Ability to adapt learning to meet individual needs
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills

If you are passionate about supporting pupils who require a highly personalised approach to learning, we'd love to hear from you.
