Our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their established design team in a newly created role. Working closely with sales and production teams, this position focuses on turning customer concepts into practical, manufacturable mechanical solutions.

This is a hands on design role requiring strong mechanical understanding, confidence in how components fit together, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The role combines technical design work with cross department collaboration, requiring clear communication, commercial awareness, and a practical mindset.

• Produce detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using Solid Works
• Collaborate with the sales team to develop mechanical solutions that support new business opportunities
• Design practical, manufacturable solutions aligned with production and installation capabilities
• Ensure designs consider installation, maintenance, and lifecycle requirements
• Provide production teams with clear assembly guidance and technical support
• Manage multiple projects from concept through to completion
• Communicate effectively with sales, production, and management teams to ensure smooth delivery
• Identify opportunities to simplify designs, reduce costs, and improve manufacturability
