Job DescriptionRole Overview
The Industrial Architect will be responsible for the architectural design, planning, and coordination of structures within a large-scale power station project. This includes integrating architectural solutions with complex engineering systems, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, and supporting efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the architectural design of industrial buildings, including turbine halls, control rooms, substations, maintenance facilities, and administrative spaces
- Develop concept, schematic, and detailed design packages aligned with project specifications and operational requirements
- Coordinate closely with structural, mechanical, electrical, and process engineering teams to ensure integrated design solutions
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, environmental regulations, and health & safety requirements
- Incorporate functional, durable, and cost-effective materials suited for heavy industrial environments
- Oversee preparation of technical drawings, BIM models, and construction documentation
- Strong knowledge of industrial building design and construction methods
- Familiarity with power plant layouts and operational requirements
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM tools)
- Understanding of relevant standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, IEC, local building codes)
- Experience with sustainable and energy‑efficient design practices
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Strong coordination and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work within tight project deadlines
- Ensure all designs prioritize personnel safety, operational reliability, and environmental protection
- Comply with all HSE policies and participate actively in safety programs
- Promote a culture of safety throughout design and construction phases
- Architectural drawings and models (concept through detailed design)
- Technical specifications and material schedules
- Coordination reports and clash detection outputs
- Site inspection and progress reports
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Industrial Architecture
- Proven experience working on large‑scale, multidisciplinary engineering projects
- Previous involvement in power generation projects (thermal, nuclear, or renewables)
- Experience with hazardous or high‑security environments
- Knowledge of modular construction or prefabrication techniques
- Familiarity with digital project delivery and BIM Level 2/3 standards
