Maintenance Engineer

We are looking for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer with experience in food processing machinery, seeking a permanent position in Blackburn.

• Position: Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer
• Salary: £48,000 plus overtime
• Shift: 4 on 4 off days and nights (no Saturday nights) or 18:00–06:00 permanent shift
• Location: Blackburn
• Pension: Auto Enrolment

• Work as part of a small team of multi-disciplined engineers
• Undertake preventive and reactive maintenance (PPMs) on equipment
• Action repairs and ensure all measures taken are recorded for root‑cause analysis
• Liaise with the Engineering Manager and Senior Engineer to ensure appropriate parts are supplied
• Minimise downtime following machine breakdowns
• Continually develop skills and knowledge
• Comply with all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures

• Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge for food processing machinery
• Process control knowledge
• Competent in building electrical control systems, from switch gear to software implementation
• Engineering apprenticeship and qualifications (BTEC ONC, HNC, HND in Electrical Engineering) essential
• Proven track record in an engineering and fault‑finding role within a FMCG environment
• Good understanding of HACCP, COSHH and GMP principles
• Drive root‑cause analysis and implement counter‑measures
• PLC fault finding
• CMMS experience and knowledge
• Ability to deploy and execute preventative maintenance strategy for the site
