The Opportunity

An established and growing engineering business is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its engineering team based in Lancashire. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven engineer to work on a diverse range of bespoke projects, taking designs from initial concept through to manufacture and implementation. Working closely with project, manufacturing, and engineering teams, you will play a key role in delivering innovative engineering solutions for high-profile projects within a technically challenging environment.
Responsibilities

Produce detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
Design mechanical systems, components, and equipment to meet customer and project requirements.
Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and associated technical documentation.
Carry out engineering calculations and design reviews.
Liaise with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers throughout the project life cycles.
Support manufacturing, assembly, testing, and installation activities when required.
Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, quality requirements, and health & safety regulations.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, cost reduction, and enhanced manufacturability.

Requirements

Essential

Degree, in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Previous experience in a Mechanical Design Engineer position.
Proficient with 3D CAD software such as Solid Works, Inventor, Creo, or similar.
Experience producing detailed engineering and manufacturing drawings.
Good understanding of fabrication, machining, and manufacturing processes.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
