Axon Moore are proud to be partnering a fantastic business in Blackburn as they look to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to their dynamic team.

This is an exciting new role to enhance the current finance team and will be a crucial role to support the financial management and reporting functions of the business. The role will involve assisting in the preparation, analysis and presentation of financial information. As such, this is a great opportunity to add real value to your CV in the run-up to achieving chartered status.

This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively within the finance team.

• Assisting with month-end, including preparing and posting journals, variance analysis and generating management accounts
• Analysing costs and expenses and identifying areas for cost control and efficiency improvements
• Assisting with forecasting and budget preparation
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Preparing and presenting management reports on key financial metrics
• Assisting with monthly cost of sales reporting and helping to identify improvements and areas for investigation
• Creating and implementing analytical tools and reports, variances, trends and opportunity for improvement to add value for the wider business
• Internal and external audits
• Liaising with all departments and assisting in preparing management reporting
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulations and internal policies
• Providing financial information to non-financial stakeholders

• Studying towards AAT/ACCA/ACA or CIMA
• Previous experience as an Assistant Management Accountant or Accounts Assistant looking to take the next step in their career
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Advanced Excel Skills
• Confident communication and leadership skills
• Analytically minded with excellent attention to detail
• Well organised with good time management skills
• Proactive and hard-working with a 'can do' approach to work

• Starting salary up to £35,000 DOE
