We are seeking a proactive, dynamic, and experienced Finance Manager to oversee finance operations within a manufacturing facility.
Finance Manager
Skills, Experience, and education required:- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) (Desirable)
- Previous experience as a Finance Manager
- Proven experience in a manufacturing finance role (Desirable)
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management and manufacturing KPIs
- Experience preparing management accounts and budgets
- Good working knowledge of UK VAT and payroll
- Experience with ERP systems (Desirable)
Finance Manager
KeyResponsibilities and Duties:
Financial Control & Reporting
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow
- Manage budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with UK accounting standards
- Maintain robust financial controls and procedures
- Manage product costing, standard costing and margin analysis
- Monitor manufacturing variances (materials, labour, overheads) and investigate discrepancies
- Support operational teams with cost control, efficiency improvements and waste reduction
- Oversee inventory valuation, stock reconciliations and cycle counts
- Manage cash flow forecasting and daily cash position
- Oversee credit control, accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Monitor working capital, including inventory levels and supplier payment terms
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees
- Ensure payroll complies with UK PAYE, NIC, pension auto-enrolment, and statutory payments
- Maintain payroll records, including starters, leavers, pay changes, overtime, and bonuses
- Act as point of contact for payroll queries from employees
- Liaise with external payroll providers if applicable
- Maintain and improve finance systems, including ERP or manufacturing accounting systems
- Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy and control
- Support implementation of new systems or reporting tools
- Manage, develop and support the finance team
- Ensure workload is prioritised and deadlines are met
- Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability and continuous improvement
