Group Financial Accountant

Axon Moore are partnering with a PE-backed business in Wigan to recruit a Group Financial Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong ACA or ACCA qualified accountant looking to join a growing business in a broad and varied Group finance role, offering exposure to statutory reporting, audit, controls, and senior stakeholder interaction.

• Preparation of annual statutory accounts for the Group and subsidiaries
• Managing the external audit process and liaising with auditors
• Supporting tax compliance activities including VAT, Corporation Tax, PAYE and related submissions
• Assisting with the development and improvement of financial controls and reporting processes
• Supporting monthly Group reporting, consolidations, balance sheet reconciliations, forecasting and treasury activities
• Assisting with Companies House and HMRC filings
• Supporting wider finance projects and ad-hoc business initiatives

• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Ideally practice trained with strong technical accounting knowledge
• Experience preparing statutory accounts within a Group environment
• Strong understanding of financial controls, reporting standards, and audit processes
• Confident communicator with strong organisational skills
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing deadlines
• Strong Excel and systems capability

• Salary of £50,000 - £58,000
