Group Tax Manager​/Tax Controller - Inhouse

Overview

Our client is a global manufacturing group. They seek a key hire to join an established tax team. This role reports to the Head of Tax and manages a team of staff. They are looking for someone with a strong eye for detail who can also take practical, commercial decisions without getting bogged down in the weeds. A can do attitude is key.

• Lead and review the accurate and timely reporting of the Group’s corporate and deferred tax positions, covering actuals, forecasts, and budget cycles. Ensure high quality internal tax data and compliance with external reporting requirements.
• Manage the UK corporate tax return process, review the UK CFC and R&D relief claims, and ensure all UK tax obligations are met to a high standard.
• Provide tax support and advice to the Group’s network of shadow tax managers and other financial managers on tax matters as appropriate.
• Provide expert tax oversight on material, unusual, or one-off transactions across the Group, ensuring risks are managed and compliance obligations are fully addressed.
• Work closely with the Head of Tax to design and implement corporate restructuring initiatives to optimise the Group’s tax profile, reduce risk, and improve efficiency.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with BEPS requirements, including review of CbCR data and management of Pillar 2 reporting and compliance.

• Experience as a corporate tax professional with large-group experience, gained either in a large accountancy firm or industry.
• Likely senior manager or director level.
