Sowena Group are partnered with a PE backed Manufacturing business based on the outskirts of Blackpool in their search for a Management Accountant.

This role offers a great opportunity for a newly Qualified ACA to transition into industry or a qualified ACCA/ CIMA to make a move into a high growth business and make a real impact under a brilliant FC.

The Role

This role will offer a well-rounded exposure to the finance function as a whole including full ownership of the month end and year end accounts with a very hands‑on focus on process improvement and supporting the junior finance team. There will also be some commercial aspects including business partnering, budgeting & forecasting and additionally supporting with the Audit. This, in addition to potentially being involved in a future exit will offer the right candidate the ability to gain huge amounts of exposure and development internally and have a real impact on the business.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for producing the month end management accounts for the group
  • Variance analysis and commentary of the monthly results
  • Monthly balance sheet production and reconciliations
  • Improve month end processes and cut down timetable
  • Calculate monthly/quarterly customer and supplier rebate claims
  • Create and submit all group company VAT returns
  • Produce weekly flash P&L reports and lead internal call
  • Produce ad hoc analysis depending on the business needs
  • Assist with the annual audit process and liaising with external auditors to produce information and resolve queries
  • Assist with annual corporation tax information production
  • Produce annual R&D credit claim
  • Business partnering with other department in the company
  • Develop an assistant accountant in the finance team
Requirements
  • Fully Qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
  • Good communication skills, especially to non finance colleagues
  • Experience of an audit process
  • Knowledge of Statutory accounts (preferable not essential)
  • Experience of an accounting system (preferably Sage but not essential)

This role offers a Hybrid working pattern of 2 days on site and flexible hours.
