About

The Role

Management Accountant responsible for providing high quality MI and variance analysis to senior management. Working autonomously within a fast-paced environment, you will be expected to adapt to the versatile needs of the business and prioritise accordingly. As part of a continuous improvement culture, you will actively look for opportunities to introduce changes to processes.

Main Responsibilities

As part of the finance team, you will play a key role in continually developing and enhancing finance systems to improve financial reporting, providing high-quality financial information and decision support across the site. You will produce timely and accurate weekly financial analysis and performance reporting, ensuring management has the insights needed to make informed business decisions. The role involves regularly reviewing the effectiveness of financial information and processes, driving continuous improvement and automation to ensure reporting remains relevant and adds value.

You will be responsible for the accurate and timely completion of new product costings to support commercial appraisals, as well as assisting with annual budgeting and forecasting activities for both direct and indirect costs, providing detailed and robust financial forecasts to support budget delivery.

You will ensure compliance with company finance policies and external audit requirements, including conducting audits of site assets, reconciling these to financial ledgers, and completing periodic balance sheet reconciliations. Responsibilities also include period-end accounting activities such as accruals and prepayments, maintaining accurate KPI and management information reporting, and ensuring stock control procedures are followed accurately and consistently. In addition, you will support, motivate, coach and develop team members, fostering a high-performance culture that recognises achievement and supports succession planning.

Above all, you will champion continuous improvement, demonstrate site principles and winning behaviours, and contribute to the overall financial and operational success of the site.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded finance professional who is part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or has developed equivalent experience in a similar role. The successful candidate will have strong financial accounting knowledge, including experience with P&L and balance sheet postings, reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting processes, and financial analysis. You will be highly proficient in Excel, with advanced skills in areas such as lookups, pivot tables and data manipulation, and have a proven ability to analyse complex data, draw meaningful conclusions and present insights clearly to key stakeholders.

Experience of standard costing, SAP (R3/S4) or other ERP systems, TM1 Cognos, and a background in the FMCG sector would be advantageous.

You will be comfortable working with colleagues at all levels, from shop floor and production teams through to senior management, and possess the confidence and influencing skills required to build strong working relationships across multiple functions and divisions. We are seeking a self-motivated individual who can work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment, demonstrating initiative, drive, commitment and enthusiasm. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, technical competence and excellent IT capabilities are essential, alongside a practical, proactive and commercially focused approach.

Leadership potential is also important, with the ability to support, lead and develop high-performing teams while driving positive change and continuous improvement across the business.
