Finance Assistant - Temporary Contract
Location: Lancaster (LA1)
Salary: Up to £35,000
Contract: Temporary, initially 3 months
Hours: Full-time
Working pattern: Hybrid, with 2-3 days per week in the office
We are recruiting for an experienced Finance Assistant to join a busy finance team in Lancaster on an initial three-month temporary contract.
This is a varied role covering multiple areas of finance, including Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, reconciliations and financial data analysis. It would suit someone with a broad finance background who is comfortable managing a varied workload and investigating queries through to resolution.
Key responsibilities- Supporting Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger activities
- Completing account reconciliations
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Processing and reviewing high volumes of financial data
- Using Excel to manipulate and analyse large datasets
- Responding to finance-related queries from teams across the business
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Providing wider support to the finance team as required
- Previous experience within a varied Finance Assistant or transactional finance role
- Strong Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger knowledge
- Confident completing reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
- Strong Excel and data-manipulation skills
- Comfortable working with large volumes of financial information
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A tenacious and investigative approach to resolving queries
- Able to work independently and quickly adapt to a new environment
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
