Position: Accounts Administrator (Fixed Term 12-Months)

Accounts Administrator 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Location: Preston
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Administrator to join a busy finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This varied role will support the smooth running of day-to-day finance operations, covering purchase ledger, payroll administration, reconciliations, reporting and month-end activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining accurate financial records and processing financial transactions.
  • Processing invoices, payments, supplier statements and payroll data.
  • Reconciling supplier statements and ledger accounts.
  • Monitoring spend against budgets and maintaining financial trackers.
  • Supporting month-end procedures, forecasting and management reporting.
  • Working closely with budget holders to provide financial information and support.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
  • Resolving supplier queries, invoice discrepancies and aged creditor issues.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and systems.

Requirements:

  • AAT Level 3 qualification or equivalent finance experience.
  • Experience in purchase ledger, payroll and general ledger activities.
  • Strong understanding of finance processes and controls.
  • Experience using accounting or ERP systems.
  • Good Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting audits.
  • Understanding of financial governance and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with in a multi-site business environment.
