The Environmental Protection team plays a vital role in this transformation, helping to ensure that all residents live in safe, clean, and environmentally sustainable neighbourhoods.
We are now seeking an experienced Environmental Protection Officer to join our dedicated Public Protection team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real and lasting impact on environmental standards and contribute to the transformation of Blackpool’s communities.
- Work as part of a fast-paced, committed team improving environmental conditions across the town.
- Support multi-agency operations aimed at enhancing environmental standards and community wellbeing.
- Use your expertise in the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and related legislation to take appropriate action and deliver positive outcomes.
- Carry out investigations, inspections, and enforcement activities to address issues affecting local environmental quality.
- Engage with residents, businesses, and partners to encourage responsible behaviour and promote high environmental standards.
- Proven experience within environmental protection or a related enforcement role.
- Solid knowledge of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and associated enforcement powers.
- A strong team player who works collaboratively with colleagues and external partners.
- A passionate, proactive individual committed to making a tangible difference to local communities.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Be part of a forward-thinking council with a clear and ambitious vision for the future.
