Local Government Reorganisation

The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire from April 2028.

If you are successful in your application, you will initially join Lancashire County Council. However, as part of the planned transition, your employment will transfer to one of the new unitary councils from April 2028, subject to the implementation of the reorganisation and relevant employment legislation.

A School Crossing Patrol is required for Market square, Kirkham. The crossing itself is close to Kirkham St Michael's Primary school. The hours are from 08:30 - 09:00 and 15:10 - 15:30 weekdays during term time, which is 38 weeks a year. Payment is FLW, currently £13.45 an hour for a minimum of 5 hours a week (this varies at each crossing point).

Uniform and training are provided.

Candidates will need to pass DBS clearance and satisfy medical suitability for the post, along with providing 2 suitable references.
