Role Overview

Phlebotomist Health Care Assistant – bank contract – 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (weekends may be required). The role is based at Hants Lane Clinic, L39 1PX
, West Lancashire (Ormskirk area) and supports dermatology services in secondary care.

• Collect and process venous blood samples.
• Conduct independent phlebotomy and medical photography clinics, completing questionnaires and capturing specialised images.
• Support dermatologists and nurses during face‑to‑face clinics and assist with minor procedures.
• Order supplies and equipment.
• Explain procedures to patients and provide clear instructions.
• Carry out tasks delegated by clinical and management teams.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and ensure patient comfort, dignity, and privacy.
• Enter and manage patient data in computer systems with attention to detail.

• Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant in a GP practice, hospital, or equivalent clinical setting.
• Phlebotomy qualification and proven experience with venous blood sample collection.
• Reliable, professional, and able to work independently.
• Excellent computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Willingness to commit to the specified working locations and hours.

Hants Lane Clinic – L39 1PX
, West Lancashire (Ormskirk area). 40 hours per week over five days; clinics start as early as 8 am and finish as late as 6 pm, with occasional weekend work.
