We are seeking a Phlebotomy Health care Assistant to join our Secondary Care Services based at our dermatology clinics. This role is ideal for somebody who enjoys working independently, while being part of a supportive and friendly team, working together to make a difference to how health services are delivered to patients.
An ideal candidate would have previous experience as Healthcare Assistant in a GP practice, hospital, or any other clinical setting with a passion for making the patient journey as comfortable as possible. You must hold a Phlebotomy qualification and be experienced in collecting and processing venous blood samples.
We offer full training for the right candidate, all we ask is that you are reliable, professional, able to work independently, can commit to the working locations and hours and have excellent computer skills.
Following full training, you will be supporting our dermatologists and nurses in face‑to‑face clinics as well as assisting with minor procedures, you will also conduct your own phlebotomy and medical photography clinics where you will complete questionnaires with patients and take some specialised images.
There are 40 hours per week available over Monday to Friday, however weekend work may sometimes be required. You will be working based on the rota with clinics starting as early as 8 am and finishing as late as 6 pm.
Responsibilities- Support dermatologists and nurses in face‑to‑face clinics.
- Assist with minor procedures.
- Conduct phlebotomy and medical photography clinics, completing questionnaires and taking specialised images.
- Order supplies and equipment.
- Explain procedures to patients.
- Undertake tasks and duties delegated by the clinical and management teams.
- Provide care for patients while maintaining a safe and clean environment.
- Ensure patient comfort, dignity and privacy.
- Enter patient data into computer systems with attention to detail.
- Act professionally, timely and reliably.
- Ensure confidentiality is adhered to.
- Use computer software systems, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Phlebotomy experience is essential.
- Experienced phlebotomist.
- Hold a Phlebotomy qualification.
- Previous experience as Healthcare Assistant in GP practice, hospital or other clinical setting.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Reliable, professional, able to work independently.
- Commitment to working locations and hours.

, West Lancashire (Ormskirk area)
Full‑time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work. Clinics run from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Salary: £15 per hour.
