Blackpool Council is committed to improving outcomes for children and families and reducing health inequalities across our town. We are looking to recruit two Family Hub Oral Health Workers to join our Early Help and Support Service, working as part of our Family Hubs offer.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in improving children's oral health across Blackpool.

About the role

As a Family Hub Oral Health Worker, you will lead on the delivery of a town-wide Supervised Tooth brushing Programme and support the development of consistent, evidence-based oral health practice across early years settings and schools.

You will:

  • Deliver training to the children's workforce to improve knowledge and confidence around oral health
  • Work directly with parents and carers to promote key oral health messages
  • Build strong partnerships with schools, early years settings, public health, and community organisations
  • Monitor and evaluate programme delivery, ensuring quality and continuous improvement

Your work will make a real impact on the health and wellbeing of young children, supporting better outcomes for families across Blackpool.

We are looking for motivated, organised and passionate individuals who:
  • Have a Level 3 qualification in a health-related subject (or equivalent)
  • Have experience working in early years, family support, education or public health settings
  • Are confident delivering training and engaging a wide range of audiences
  • Have a good understanding of child development, safeguarding and health inequalities
  • Are able to work independently and manage a varied workload across multiple sites
  • Have strong communication and organisational skills

Experience of oral health promotion or delivering health improvement programmes would be advantageous.
