We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Health & Wellbeing Coach to join our Health & Wellbeing Team that will be focused on carrying out workplace health checks for local businesses and employers across Blackburn with Darwen.

Our Health & Wellbeing Team are dedicated to improving the health & wellbeing of people who live, work or have a GP in Blackburn with Darwen.

About the Role

You will:

  • Work as part of the Health & Wellbeing Team carrying out Workplace Health Checks using assessment measures such as questionnaires, finger prick sampling, blood pressure readings and body measurements to assess lifestyle, CVD risk and wellbeing.
  • Promote physical activity, healthy weight, mental wellbeing, and resilience through positive behaviour change.
  • Support the Health & Wellbeing Team to raise the profile and awareness of workplace health checks in Blackburn with Darwen.
We are looking for someone who:
  • Has practical experience of working with people (either 121 or in groups) in community settings around health & wellbeing.
  • Is qualified to Level 2 (or equivalent) relating to health or physical activity.
  • Is reliable, approachable, flexible and have excellent communication skills.
    The ability to speak community languages is an advantage
    .
  • Has the ability to travel to venues across the borough to fulfil service delivery, including transportation of equipment.
  • Has the confidence to carry out health checks (including finger prick blood testing) and provide personalised 121 coaching support than enables behaviour change.
  • Can use computers to maintain records and enter people’s personal and health data on our web-based client management systems.
  • Enjoys being part of a team; yet possess the personal management skills to work alone.
  • Is highly organised, motivated and resilient.
