Interview Dates: Interviews are expected to take place during the weeks commencing 21st September 2026 and 28th September 2026 (dates to be confirmed).
This role is integral to the Public Health team and holds responsibility for key business functions to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the service.
You will require excellent organisational skills, a proven track record in business management, and experience of audit, governance and quality improvement processes.
The post holder will be proactive and able to work independently, with a high degree of accuracy, probity, flexibility, risk awareness and accountability.
You will provide day-to-day coordination and oversight of the annual Public Health budget (circa £22m) and associated assurance processes.
You will support Public Health business planning activities and be responsible for key governance functions, including performance management, risk management and business continuity across both Public Health.
In addition, the post holder will manage the Executive Support function within the Adults & Health Directorate, providing leadership and oversight to ensure high-quality support to senior officers and effective coordination of key business activities across the directorate.
This post is being offered on a 12-month fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover. To support a smooth transition, there will be a planned handover period with the substantive post holder prior to their leave commencing.
