Senior Support Worker

Location:

East Lancashire Salary: £14 per hour, approximately £26,936 per annum, plus £67 per sleepover

Hours:

Full-time, 37 hours per week Closing Date: 23 September 2026

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Support Worker to join a positive and supportive team in East Lancashire.

This is a hands-on role combining direct support with first-line management responsibilities. You will support people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and additional complex needs, helping them enjoy greater independence and take part in activities they value.

Working closely with the Team Leader and wider staff team, your key responsibilities will include:

Providing compassionate, person-centred support
Assisting with the supervision and development of specialist support staff
Supporting the management of staff rotas
Helping to develop and deliver individual support packages
Promoting a safe, effective and smoothly run service
Taking part in the shared on-call rota
Working flexibly, including evenings and alternate weekends

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Support Worker who is ready to take on greater responsibility and develop their leadership and management skills.

About You

You will have significant experience of supporting people with complex needs and a genuine commitment to helping others live fulfilling lives.

You will also need:

A Diploma or NVQ Level 2 qualification, or equivalent, in Adult Care
Strong organisational and communication skills
The ability to lead, motivate and support colleagues
A calm and positive approach when working under pressure
Flexibility to work evenings, alternate weekends and shared on-call duties
An open-minded, energetic approach and a good sense of humour
