Priory Hospital Kemple View, Blackburn, Lancashire is a 90-bedded hospital providing level 2 rehabilitation and secure services for adult males with mental health conditions and/or personality disorders. It is accessible by public transport, with a local train station approximately a 3-minute drive away. Due to the location of the service, access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended.
- Respond to referrals promptly, carrying out comprehensive assessments to understand each client’s needs and develop an appropriate, person-centred therapy programme.
- Deliver a range of relevant therapeutic interventions and activities designed to support and promote clients’ mental, emotional, physical and social wellbeing.
- Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, adapting interventions as needed to reflect each client’s changing needs and goals.
- Work collaboratively with clients, families and carers to ensure therapy is meaningful, effective and focused on achieving positive outcomes.
- Regularly review and evaluate therapy programmes, ensuring that interventions remain appropriate and aligned with each client’s individual therapy plan.
- Applicants must be Practitioner Psychologists registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)—this is a mandatory requirement—and Chartership with the British Psychological Society (BPS) is preferred.
- This role requires a minimum of a relevant Master’s degree, along with a recognised postgraduate qualification and accreditation from the appropriate professional body (BABCP, BCP, BPS or equivalent).
- Candidates must also demonstrate prior experience and practical exposure within their chosen field of therapy, ensuring they possess the necessary clinical competence and applied knowledge to deliver high-quality therapeutic practice.
