The post-holder will be responsible for patients presenting with scheduled appointments or acute urgent appointments. The post-holder will also be required to carry out telephone triage and advising people in respect of their medical needs. The post holder will also be responsible for promoting and facilitating a healthy lifestyle and provide preventative health care and health education. The post holder will act as a role model in the delivery of the service by being a highly efficient and productive senior clinician using their expert knowledge and experience.
You will need to prioritise the needs of the service, team and patients accordingly making any necessary decisions to maintain the safety of the patients and the effectiveness of the service.
The position is 16 hours worked over 2 days (Wednesday and Friday).
- Provide expert assessment, screening treatment services and health care advice.
- Assess, treat and advise patients presenting with health care / nursing needs.
- Provide supervision of the clinical team, assisting and developing the team and individuals clinical skills.
- Monitor the teams safe clinical effectiveness.
- When required ensure patients are referred on to other members of the primary health care team or secondary care as necessary and support and guide others as required.
- Ensure all practice is safe and effective and remains within boundaries of competence of individuals and to acknowledge limitations.
- Perform investigatory procedures, including collection of pathology samples.
- Assist/perform minor procedures.
- In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the duties and responsibilities associated with an expert practitioner working within primary care.
- Develop and maintain clinical/nursing policies, procedures and protocols.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for another Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our friendly team at Lockwood GP Surgery. Lockwood Surgery has a 9400 patient list size surgery in the village of Poulton-Le-Fylde.
We are an enthusiastic, friendly team with 10 Partners consisting of GP's and Practice Pharmacist; 1 salaried GP; 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 1 Paramedic; 4 Practice Nurses, Mental Health Nurse, 3 HCAs and highly skilled Management and Administration teams.
