MAC is a full-service global Contract Research Organisation (CRO) with a network of research sites. Our mission is to serve with honesty and integrity to make an outstanding contribution to human health.
We are looking for a friendly and approachable HR Manager to join our Human Resources department in Blackpool.
As this is a hybrid role, you will be required to work on site for at least two days per week at our Lancashire, Blackpool site (or Manchester); travel to other sites will be required as circumstances dictate. A valid driving licence and access to own transport are beneficial.
Responsibilities- Oversee and manage all employee relations issues in the business, escalating to the Director of Site Operations where required.
- Devise and maintain processes and procedures for all ER processes to be implemented across the business.
- Support the Director of Site Operations with policy writing and maintaining the UK employee handbook.
- Support the Director of Site Operations in developing an HR function outside of the UK.
- Provide guidance on all HR processes and policies.
- Ensure all contractual terms are accurate and up to date to minimise risks to the Company.
- Oversee absence management, including holidays and sickness reporting.
- Oversee the collation and submission of relevant information to Finance for payroll on a monthly basis, including new starter documents, sickness, unpaid leave, job changes, leavers, etc.
- Deliver training to line managers on HR-related processes as required.
- Scribe, advise and support line managers during formal meetings, where required.
- Mentor colleagues in the HR department, providing training and guidance.
- Maintain high levels of confidentiality and sensitivity when dealing with all issues, especially sensitive situations and information.
- Contribute to the creation of solutions to improve and standardise the HR service by identifying and recommending opportunities for improvement.
- Manage exit surveys and arrange exit interviews where requested.
- Manage the Mental Health Initiative Group within the organisation.
- Administrate and advise on the Private Medical Scheme.
- Manage leavers and all maternity/paternity matters in the business.
- Support the management of Sage and any queries.
- CIPD Level 5 qualified or Chartered MCIPD (desirable).
- Minimum of five years' HR experience.
- Proven background as an HR professional working with senior management stakeholders, with demonstrable experience building trusted relationships at this level, ideally within a multi-site and global business.
- Hands-on experience covering topics such as employee relations, policy review, business partnering, reward, culture, and diversity and inclusion.
- Self-starter, able to plan and prioritise own workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Organised, commercially savvy with a data-driven approach.
- Knowledge of and experience in the application of UK employment law.
- Experience working across different international jurisdictions (desirable).
- Salary range 35, per annum.
