Data Engineer
Provenir is a global fintech company with offices across North America, the UK, and Singapore, backed by talented teams across APAC, EMEA, and LATAM. Provenir helps fintechs, financial institutions, and payment providers make smarter decisions faster. We are passionate about technology and empowering businesses to become industry leaders. As a leading provider of decisioning and analytics products for financial services and other industries, we empower businesses to create digital‑first decisioning solutions that drive growth.
We are Provenir AI, part of the Provenir group. Our job is to build scalable platforms that give our clients better decision‑making capabilities than the established players in our space. You'll be building and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers our global platform – working on 1datapipe®, customer profiling, innovation projects, and owning data pipelines that process millions of transactions daily.
We’re a small team; you’ll work autonomously but with proper support, collaborate across engineering functions, and focus on solving real data problems rather than theoretical ones. If the idea of building genuinely useful data systems appeals to you, this role could be a good fit.
- Design, build and run data pipelines for our global platform
- Own automation and monitoring for data quality and performance
- Work with internal and external teams to deliver new data capabilities
- Contribute to product roadmap and POC development
- Document technical specifications and design decisions
- 5+ years as a Data Engineer
- Hands‑on Apache Spark (PySpark) experience, including performance tuning
- Experience with AWS services (EMR, Athena, S3, RDS)
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience with data lake/lakehouse technologies (Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg or similar)
- Experience with data modelling, data warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Linux/Unix shell scripting
- CI/CD and Git in a team environment
Although not essential, it would be great if you have experience with:
- Data quality and observability tools (Great Expectations, Soda)
- Data or ML pipeline orchestration
- BI tools and data visualisation
- Initial chat – this would be with a member of our recruitment team to better understand your current situation, what you are looking for, and any questions you may have.
- Technical Challenge – a take‑home task you will complete in your own time.
- Technical Interview – with your potential team members, primarily consisting of technical questions.
- Final Interview – with senior management and covering a range of technical and behavioural competencies.
- Comprehensive private health cover and wellness plans
- Flexible and remote‑friendly opportunities
- Maternity/paternity leave
- Retirement benefits such as pension contributions to plan for your future
- Mac Book Pro
Our employees are our top priority; we offer comprehensive health and wellness plans, paid time off, company holidays, flexible and remote‑friendly opportunities, and maternity/paternity leave.
At Provenir, we recognize that diversity and inclusion make our teams stronger. We are committed to equal employment opportunity and welcome everyone regardless of race, colour, ancestry, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, marital status, domestic partner status, citizenship, veteran status or medical condition. We encourage people from all backgrounds to apply.
