M365 and Entra Technical Architect

Full time – 37 hours Monday – Friday

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced M365 & Entra Technical Architect to provide enterprise-wide architectural leadership across our Microsoft 365 and Entra . This is a key role shaping the future of our digital workplace and identity services, ensuring they are secure, scalable, compliant, and aligned to business strategy.

• Defining and maintaining the enterprise architecture for Microsoft 365 and Entra
• Leading the design of secure identity, access, collaboration, and endpoint solutions
• Providing architectural governance, technical assurance, and design authority for M365/Entra initiatives
• Developing standards, reference architectures, patterns, and roadmaps
• Advising on and embedding Zero Trust principles across identity, endpoints, and data
• Acting as the subject matter expert for identity lifecycle management, authentication, and conditional access
• Leading complex migrations, integrations, and transformation programmes involving M365 and Entra
• Providing technical leadership on security, compliance, and data protection within the Microsoft ecosystem
• Mentoring engineers and supporting capability uplift across identity and collaboration technologies

• Deep expertise in Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, One Drive, and Purview
• Expert knowledge of Entra  (Azure AD), including Conditional Access, MFA, PIM, identity lifecycle, and hybrid identity
• Strong understanding of Zero Trust and modern security models
• Experience with Intune, endpoint management, Autopilot, and device compliance
• Knowledge of modern authentication and integration protocols (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM)
• Strong architectural design and problem-solving capability
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and explain complex concepts clearly
