Court of Protection Solicitor

We are working with a highly regarded and award-winning law firm seeking a Solicitor to join its established Court of Protection and Private Client team in Manchester.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting a Deputy in managing a national caseload of high-value Property & Affairs deputyships and trust matters.
• Managing your own caseload of smaller Court of Protection matters and building your practice.
• Meeting clients and families both in and out of the office.
• Working closely with Clinical Negligence colleagues to support clients with complex needs.
• Assisting with the continued growth and development of the Court of Protection team.

The successful candidate will have:

• 2-5 years' PQE, ideally within Court of Protection and/or Private Client work.
• Experience handling Property & Affairs Court of Protection matters.
• A strong understanding of the Mental Capacity Act, Code of Practice and Court of Protection Rules.
• Solid Private Client experience.
• Knowledge of welfare benefits.
• STEP qualification, or an interest in pursuing it.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and client care skills.
