Job Title:
Operations Manager - Children's Residential Care (North West)
Location:
North West England
Package: £65,000, + car + welcome bonus + Up to £13,000 in performance bonuses
Overview:
An established organisation specialising in children’s residential care is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee four residential care homes in the North West. The role offers a competitive salary of up to £65,000, with additional benefits including a car allowance, performance bonuses, and a welcome bonus. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective management of all homes, maintaining compliance with legislative standards, and leading staff development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
The Operations Manager will oversee all aspects of operations for children’s residential homes in the North West region. This includes line managing registered managers, promoting high standards of care, and ensuring all homes are rated “Good” by Ofsted. The role involves working closely with the senior management team to develop strategies that support safe practice, safeguarding, and organisational growth. The Operations Manager will also lead on recruitment, staff development, and oversee budgets related to the homes.
Additional duties include managing external monitoring of practice, leading safeguarding efforts, and supporting the opening of a new care home.
Essential Requirements:
* Valid driving licence
* Level 5 qualification in leadership and management
* Experience working within children’s residential care, especially with learning disabilities (LD)
* Open to candidates with backgrounds as either Operations Managers or Registered Managers
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, Ofsted standards, and SEN requirements
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
* Proven leadership skills within children’s residential services
* Ability to foster a positive and compliant care environment
* Experience in staff recruitment, retention, and development
* Strong organisational skills to manage budgets and operational processes
