Team Manager – Duty and Assessment (East Lancashire)

Are you an experienced Social Work professional looking for your next leadership opportunity? We are seeking a passionate and motivated Team Manager to lead our Duty and Assessment Team in East Lancashire.

East Lancashire is a diverse area with a mix of urban and rural communities, offering a rewarding and varied caseload. No two days are the same, providing an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children and families.

As Team Manager, you will lead, support, and develop a team of 5–6 Social Workers within our Duty and Assessment Service. The team is responsible for undertaking initial Child and Family Assessments, identifying need, managing risk, and ensuring children receive the right support at the right time.

As part of our continued investment in Children's Services and ongoing team expansion, this is an exciting time to join East Lancashire. The growth of the service reflects our commitment to reducing caseloads, strengthening management support, and creating greater capacity for high-quality practice. This expansion will provide enhanced development opportunities for staff and ensure families receive timely, effective interventions from a well-resourced and supportive team.

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Demonstrates strong leadership and management skills.
  • Is committed to achieving the best outcomes for children and families.
  • Shares Lancashire's values and commitment to high-quality practice.
  • Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Can develop positive partnerships with colleagues, children, families, and partner agencies.
Interviews: TBC

Applicants must be registered with Social Work England (SWE) or have applied for registration before appointment.

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended).

You will be required to provide a vehicle for business use and hold appropriate business insurance. Reasonable adjustments will be considered for applicants who are unable to drive because of a disability.

Why Lancashire County Council?

In return, we offer a competitive salary, ongoing professional development, flexible working opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package.
