37.5 hours per week

We are looking for an experienced Production Lead to take responsibility for day‑to‑day operations within a busy manufacturing environment. Working under the guidance of the Operations Manager and alongside fellow Production Leaders, you will lead a team of colleagues and ensure we "win the day" across safety, quality, service, cost and engagement.

This role combines strong frontline leadership with forward‑looking, continuous‑improvement activity. You will be a visible presence on the shop floor, driving operational excellence while maintaining high production standards and safe working practices.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations & Leadership

Provide frontline leadership and supervision to a team of production employees.
Ensure consistent focus on safety, quality, delivery, cost and colleague engagement.
Maintain safe operations, ensuring all Risk Assessments are current and relevant.
Identify and drive safety improvements and support crews in raising and closing safety actions.

Production Control & Tier Meetings

Run Tier 1 meetings, coaching operators in first‑line problem solving and quality conformance.
Lead Tier 2 meetings, monitoring production rates, yields, output quality, costs and order status.
Attend Tier 3 meetings and prepare/report productivity data, outputs, risks and actions.
Review daily performance, track KPIs and escalate issues appropriately.

Continuous Improvement & Forward Planning

Drive improvements that enhance productivity, reduce waste and lower operating costs.
Support lean and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
Work collaboratively with engineering, planning, safety and other cross‑functional teams.

Experience & Skills Required

Essential

5+ years' experience in a manufacturing leadership role.
Strong people‑management and team‑engagement skills.
Able to operate independently and "hit the ground running."
Proven ability to prioritise effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
Confident communicator with experience running structured meetings.
Strong influencing skills to support change and maintain high standards.

Desirable

Supervisory, engineering or management‑related qualifications.

Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement or cost‑reduction activity.
SAP knowledge (training provided).

Personal Attributes

Visible leader with a strong presence on the shop floor.
