Role Overview

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves managing production teams, optimising processes, and driving continuous improvement across the operation.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations

* Plan, coordinate, and control manufacturing processes to meet production schedules

* Ensure efficient use of labour, materials, and equipment

* Monitor production performance against KPIs (output, quality, cost, delivery)

* Identify and implement improvements to maximise productivity

Team Leadership

* Lead, motivate, and develop production teams (Supervisors, Team Leaders, Operators)

* Manage staffing levels, shift patterns, and workforce planning

* Conduct performance reviews and support training & development initiatives

Health & Safety

* Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation and company policies

* Promote a strong safety culture across the site

* Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions

Quality & Compliance

* Ensure products meet required quality standards and specifications

* Work closely with Quality teams to reduce defects and improve processes

* Support audits (internal and external) and maintain compliance with ISO standards

Continuous Improvement

* Drive Lean / Continuous Improvement initiatives (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma)

* Identify waste and inefficiencies within production processes

* Implement best practices to improve performance
