Recruit4staff are representing a well-established engineering company in their search for a Fabricator Welder to work in Skelmersdale.
Job Role: Fabricator Welders are responsible for fabricating a range of steel products in a workshop setting. This includes working from engineering drawings, fabricating mild steel and structural steel components, and performing MIG welding. The role also involves making tanks, vessels, and structural components while maintaining high-quality standards and accurate work records.
- Pay:
Up to £17 per hour - Hours of Work: 7am-3:30pm Monday to Thursday, 7am-12:00 Friday
- Duration:
Temp to Perm - Overtime Rules: x1.5 in the week and on Saturday, x2 on Sunday
- Fabrication of steel components
- Working from engineering/technical drawings
- MIG welding
- Experience working with mild steel and structural steel
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Experience making tanks and vessels
- Working with stainless steel
- TIG welding
- Previous experience working as a coded welder
Essential Qualifications:
- NVQ/C&G in Fabrication and Welding or equivalent
- Driving Licence
Desired Qualifications:
- Coded in MIG welding
- Coded in TIG welding
- CSCS/CCNSG Card

For the successful Fabricator Welder (Heavy Gauge)our client is offering:
- Hourly rate of £17.12 per hour (PAYE)
- Basic Salary of £35,609 per annum
- Overtime paid at x1.5 (£25.68) & x2 (£34.24)
- Working hours:
Monday to Friday, 6am to 2pm - Overtime available after hours and on weekends

- Fabricating structural components.
- Plate perpetration, using different methods (Oxy – fuel gas cutting & Hand Grinding), pressure testing, drilling & lock fitting)
- Fit, fair and tack weld steelwork
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Operating various tools and machinery.
- Assembling the parts into a structure, usually by welding it, but sometimes using bolts and rivets
- Finishing off the assembly, using tools like grinders and polishers to smooth the surface
- Ensuring high-quality standards are met.
- Following health and safety protocols
- City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent in fabrication or welding / Plating
- Proven expertise in fabrication and welding. ESSENTIAL
- Proven experience in the Marine / Nuclear / Steel fabrication / Off-shore / Petro-chemical or Construction industries - ESSENTIAL
- Previous experience with Heavy Gauge Fabrication/ Plating work- ESSENTIAL
- Significant experience in structural steel fabrication - BENEFICIAL
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
