We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive PR Executive to join the PR & Marketing team at Pleasure Beach Resort – made up of the world-famous theme park, two hotels (Boulevard and Big Blue Hotel) and its extensive programme of shows and events. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual in the early stages of their PR career to grow with an iconic brand as it approaches a milestone year.

A talented writer with creative flair, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day‑to‑day delivery of our public relations activity – including creating engaging content, driving positive headlines in local, regional and national media, and helping to deliver unforgettable PR campaigns.

You’ll be instrumental in shaping the PR strategy of one of the UK’s most famous visitor attractions, and the Resort as a whole. Plus, you’ll join us at an incredibly exciting time as we celebrate 130 years of Pleasure Beach Resort in 2026, and prepare for the launch of our new, UK‑first, £8.72M ride in the same year.

Full training and ongoing support will be provided to help you develop your skills and grow within the team.

Your role will support the PR Manager with the implementation of Pleasure Beach Resort’s PR strategy, which includes:
  • Media relations – researching, writing and issuing press releases, responding to media enquiries, identifying media opportunities, and proactively pitching positive news stories to journalists.
  • Copywriting and storytelling – creating engaging copy for a variety of channels, including the website, social media, marketing emails, promotional literature and external comms.
  • External filming requests – supporting the management of external filming requests and activity on the park, liaising with production teams, directors and VIPs to ensure smooth coordination.
  • PR activations – supporting with ideation and execution of PR stunts, experiential marketing and campaigns, particularly surrounding the launch of our newest ride in 2026.
  • Events and collaborations – assisting with press events, media days and influencer partnerships.
  • Press trips – securing and organising journalist visits to the theme park, events and our two hotels.
  • Social media support – working alongside marketing colleagues to create engaging content for Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, You Tube and other channels as required.
  • Reputation management – helping to monitor and manage the Resort’s reputation, including sentiment tracking, social listening, and supporting any crisis communications if required.
  • Awards submissions – identifying, drafting and entering relevant industry awards to boost our profile.
  • Stakeholder engagement – liaising with internal teams to gather stories and news from across the Resort, as well as external industry and tourism partners.
  • PR admin – using tools such as Meltwater and Muck Rack, monitoring media coverage, compiling reports to evaluate campaign success, and maintaining and updating press databases and media lists.
  • Internal support – supporting other marketing activity within the PR & Marketing department as required.
  • The job may involve occasional weekend and evening work, and occasional travel.
  • Due to the hands‑on nature of the role, we'll need you to work on‑site at our Blackpool office, right in the heart of the excitement at Pleasure Beach Resort.
Who we’re looking for:
  • You’re a talented writer with a knack for drafting a variety of engaging media content including press releases, features, editorial, and spokesperson quotes.
  • You have excellent communication skills, an ability to build strong relationships, and you’re comfortable engaging with people at all levels – including our internal teams, members of the media, and VIP guests.
  • You’ll be able to liaise confidently with journalists, which will include pitching, negotiation, and face‑to‑face meetings.
  • You have strong organisational skills, an ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment, and excellent attention to detail.
  • You consume all things media – from news to the latest trends – and have a genuine interest in PR and storytelling.
  • You may not have a “little black book” of media contacts (although it’s a bonus if you do!)…
