Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced children’s nurse to join the children’s community nursing team on a fixed term basis . Our versatile and responsive team work with children and young people at home, special schools and other community settings. They provide direct nursing care, support and education and training to children and families with a variety of medical conditions and complex needs.
Key Responsibilities- The team support children with acute and complex conditions and support children and their families with life limiting conditions.
- The team support Paediatric Virtual Ward within the community setting .
- The applicant must be dynamic, dedicated, self-motivated, and able to work well independently but also within a team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for the role as the successful candidate will work with children, young people and families and the wider multidisciplinary team in the community.
- As a band 6 nurse the applicant will be expected to deputise for the team leader when necessary and supervise junior members of staff.
- The applicant must be either an experienced senior band 5 or currently a band 6 nurse with Intravenous/central line competency. Experience of ward and ideally community setting .
- The post holder will hold the Community Specialist Practitioner Course qualification or be willing to undertake this as the opportunity arises
- The post holder will be based at Newton Drive Health Centre working alongside colleagues from various health professions. They can expect to be well supported via various routes including Trust induction, local team induction programme, clinical supervision, and Team meetings, Appraisal / Personal Development Review / Personal Development Plan etc.
