Staff Nurse MAC

Mac is a 24‑hour assessment unit that sees patients from GP and other community settings. It is a fast‑paced environment with a high turnover of patients. Our aim is to reduce admissions by treating patients within MAC and discharging them back to the community.

• Work as a registered nurse within a ward team within the Integrated Medicine and Patient Flow Division.
• Prioritise and deliver nursing care and assessment as needed.
• Demonstrate high standards of care and set examples of best practice in the delivery of patient care.
• liaise with other departments and staff to ensure that patient care is delivered.
• Ensure patients’ safety, privacy and dignity is maintained at all times.
• Support the nurse in charge of the ward and liaise with other departments and professionals to ensure that the needs of the unit are met.
• Follow appropriate development to assist in take‑charge duties of the unit and oversee patient admissions, transfers and the care delivered by other staff.
• Undertake such duties as from time to time determined by the Unit Manager and/or Head Nurse.

Flexible Working Patterns may be available upon discussion, such as Night Shifts or Part‑time hours – please discuss at interview stage.
