Nuclear Inspector (Level 2 / Level
3)
£18.46 - £20.08 per hour
Day Shift – Monday to Thursday 07:30am to 04:15pm;
Friday 07:30am to 12:30pm. Monthly paid.
Permanent | Full Time (38 hours per week) – Lancashire.
We are looking for an experienced inspector or quality professional with a strong mechanical engineering background and a passion for maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.
Working HoursMonday – Thursday: 07:30am – 04:15pm. Friday: 07:30am – 12:30pm. Monthly paid. Flexibility to work alternative shifts when required.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out inspections of purchased parts, sub‑assemblies and finished products using mechanical, physical and electrical measurement techniques.
- Ensure all quality and safety requirements are met.
- Record and document inspection and testing results accurately.
- Support project‑related inspection activities and coordinate inspection tasks.
- Maintain quality records, controlled documents and inspection reports.
- Coordinate calibration activities for inspection and test equipment.
- Assist in the creation, review and continuous improvement of inspection procedures and protocols.
- Work closely with Engineering and Quality teams to investigate and resolve quality issues.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and quality plans.
- Experience using inspection equipment, including micrometres, verniers and other precision measuring instruments.
- Experience inspecting precision machined components and fabrications.
- Strong organisational and record‑keeping skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Time Served Mechanical Engineer.
- Minimum two years’ experience within inspection or quality control.
- Experience operating measurement and inspection equipment.
- Strong technical understanding of manufacturing methods and quality processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of ISO
9001. - Previous nuclear industry inspection experience would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of ASMEPED would be beneficial but is not essential.
