Availability Window
The availability windows required for this role are:
- Sunday 16:00 – 23:00
- Monday 08:00 – 12:30
- Thursday 16:00 – 21:00
- Saturday 15:30 – 23:00
Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour; this increases to £14.55 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
We offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but you may also work as few as 12 hours if that suits your schedule.
We use the availability windows above to schedule your contracted hours. You will receive 3 weeks’ notice of your exact shifts. If the times you are available to work closely match the advertised windows, we will still consider your application.

- Know your customers and serve them with passion and pride, giving great natural service.
- Be passionate and knowledgeable about the products and services within the store.
- Work across the store in our service, picking, and replenishment areas as required.
- Apply the training you receive so we all work safely, effectively, and serve customers brilliantly.
- Make decisions that are right for customers, delivering routines that meet their needs at the right time.
- Participate in seasonal, community, and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere.
- Be knowledgeable about the store’s performance, understand your role, and what is needed to drive service and sales, reduce waste and shrink, and deliver profit.
- Handle products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in the best condition.
- Live our values, make everyone feel welcome, and always follow our policies.
- May be required to accept deliveries into the store.
- Have a passion for delivering great service, greeting customers with a smile, and serving them with pride.
- Build rapport with customers, ensuring they leave the store having experienced a great shopping trip.
