Salary: £36,363 - £40,778 per annum
Contract: Fixed‑Term until May 2026, Full Time 37 hours per week
Location: Preston, with travel across Lancashire & Blackpool
International Sponsorship: Not open to international sponsorship.
About the RoleWe are looking for a Grade 8 Social Worker to join the Recruitment & Assessment Team within Adoption. You will be involved in the recruitment, assessment and support of prospective adopters until an Adoption Order is granted. Your key duties will include:
- Provide information to prospective adopters through events.
- Complete assessments.
- Deliver training, both pre‑approval and post‑approval, ensuring adopters are prepared.
- Participate in the matching process and support adopters once children are placed.
- Offer continued support to families post‑placement.
Qualifications and attributes needed:
- Qualified social worker with Social Work England registration.
- Experience supporting children and families in complex situations.
- Strong assessment, report‑writing and communication skills.
- Knowledge of child development and relevant legislation.
- Ability to manage caseloads, work in partnership and value diversity.
- IT literate and committed to continuous professional development.
- Approachable, trustworthy and dedicated to improving outcomes for children.
- Full driving licence and access to a car for business use.
