The organisation has grown across the UK, providing support to people affected by homelessness and drug and alcohol use through housing, coaching and therapeutic programmes.

About the Role

As a Housing Support Worker you will support people with a history of drug and/or alcohol issues who are abstinent and living in supported housing projects. You will work closely with colleagues and partner agencies to deliver interventions that support recovery and help residents achieve independent living in the community. The role also involves collaborating with teams that provide psychological therapies to improve residents' wellbeing and ensuring residents are safe, engaged, and participate in positive activities that support their recovery.

You

The role is entry‑level and offers training, so previous direct experience is not essential. Candidates should demonstrate a passion for working with people affected by addiction and may also have experience with individuals who have complex needs, challenging behaviour, substance misuse and/or criminal offending backgrounds. Desired qualities and qualifications include:

  • Experience in supporting people to develop personal strengths and sustain tenancy within a supported housing environment
  • Specialist harm reduction experience
  • Experience of developing partnerships and collaborating with other organisations
  • A coaching, counselling or Health and Social Care qualification
  • An understanding of the harmful effects associated with drug and alcohol misuse and offending in relation to health, social welfare, housing, employability and personal relationships
