Transport Planner

We are recruiting for an experienced and organised Transport Planner to join a well-established organisation operating within the environmental services sector. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a growing team dedicated to delivering efficient, compliant, and sustainable transport operations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in planning and coordinating transport activities, ensuring resources are utilised effectively while maintaining high standards of service, safety, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and coordinate daily transport and logistics activities
- Create and manage transport schedules to meet operational requirements
- Optimise vehicle routes to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs
- Monitor transport operations and respond to changing priorities
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transport legislation, safety standards, and company procedures
- Utilise transport planning systems and route optimisation tools effectively
- Liaise with drivers, operational teams, customers, and external stakeholders
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across transport and logistics functions
- Maintain accurate transport records and operational data
- Previous experience in a Transport Planner, Logistics Coordinator, or similar role
- Strong understanding of transport planning, route optimisation, and logistics operations
- Experience managing and coordinating transport activities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Good knowledge of transport compliance, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Ability to prioritise workloads and adapt to changing operational demands
- Proficient in the use of transport planning and logistics software
- Experience with in environmental services, waste management, agriculture, or related sectors
- Knowledge of transport modelling and fleet optimisation techniques
- Relevant qualification in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain, or a related discipline
