Lancaster Math​/ELA In-Person Tutors Referral

Overview

Hey Tutor has partnered with a school district in Lancaster and we're hiring math tutors to assist elementary and middle school students during after-school hours. You will be working with students in grades K-8. You will be actively supervising students as you help them catch up from learning gaps developed over the past school year. You must be comfortable passing an in-person background check.

$20.00/hr - $26.00/hr

• Work with groups of students without the support of a teacher or school site staff
• Prepare area to start tutoring session
• May be responsible for picking up and dropping off students from designated areas in the school site
• Take attendance and run lessons through the Hey Tutor Dashboard (if applicable)
• Document student progress with Hey Tutor Dashboard
• When requested by manager, facilitate students taking and completing baseline and summative assessments
• Lead a group of students in the tutoring session, using curriculum and materials provided by the program
• Create an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging
• Support students in making positive behavior choices
• Engage and interact with tutoring lessons alongside the students
• Daily clocking in and out of Deputy for shifts
• Any other duties as required by the Company, your manager, and/or the school site

Must be available between 1:00pm-6:00pm, Monday to Friday. Shifts are 3 hours a day depending on school site needs.

• Must have completed an AA or higher, or be currently enrolled in college/university in Education
• Preferred teaching experience or fully credentialed teacher
• Tutoring experience (great with kids)
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting
• Clear FBI-DOJ background check (provided through us)
• COVID-19 vaccination
• Spanish bilingual preferred

$20-26 per hour. Pay depends on a combination of education and experience and will be determined at the time of the interview.
