This role supports the Metrolink service at our Lancaster, CA crew base. The expectation is that the successful candidate will be on-site, with flexibility to cover other crew bases in the greater Los Angeles area. The successful candidate will be located in the Lancaster/Palmdale or Santa Clarita area. Relocation may be offered.

You'll provide crucial leadership and ensure the safe, efficient operation of our locomotives and trains, making a significant impact on our service delivery and safety standards. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Project & Bid Management, Safety, Training, and Compliance), mentor and oversee our locomotive engineers and conductors, and much more."

• Monitoring employees for compliance with regulations and operating practices.
• Initiating action for non-compliance in a consistent and fair manner.
• Managing employees and train operations to optimize On‑Time Performance (OTP) and making recommendations to improve performance.
• Responding to service disruptions within your area of responsibility.
• Enforcing safety plans and maintaining a thorough understanding of operating, PTC, and safety rules.
• Providing comprehensive written and oral reports.

• Degree in Transportation, Business or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Experience or understanding of supervisory roles within an FRA regulated railroad environment.
• Knowledge of FRA Regulations on Operating rules GCOR, Timetable and Special Instructions.
• Familiarity with the physical layout and operation of the Authority’s rail system.
• Locomotive Engineer Certification.

• Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues.
• Work with a dedicated team to optimize train operations and ensure safety compliance.
• Progress towards a leadership role in managing and mentoring locomotive engineers and conductors.
• Utilise our safety-focused working environment.
• Contribute to innovative projects.

Pay Range: $ to $ depending on experience/qualifications.

This position is eligible for Railroad Retirement.
