OverviewDesert Vineyard Church is a multi‑generational and multi‑cultural community of faith located on 10 acres in the northern section of Los Angeles County, Lancaster, CA. The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operations of 100,000 sq ft of facilities, including 28 HVAC units, plumbing, and electrical apparatus across four buildings. The responsibilities include managing the Facility Team, Security and Safety teams, janitorial and landscaping contractors, and ensuring that interior and exterior spaces are consistently clean, safe, and fully prepared for Sunday and Wednesday experiences, memorials, weddings, and other special events.
The Facilities Supervisor will also manage maintenance and repairs, ensure the proper operation of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and coordinate with contractors when needed.

- Oversee janitorial and landscaping contractors to ensure cleanliness and excellence across all grounds and facilities, and uphold all terms of service contracts.
- Perform and/or manage all facility maintenance and repairs (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, custodial, waste management, etc.).
- Supervise and schedule the Facilities Team to ensure timely room setup/breakdown, property upkeep, and responsiveness to maintenance needs.
- Engage with congregants, encouraging and equipping them to serve within the church. Specifically identify, recruit, and organize volunteers to maintain, improve, and beautify the church campus.
- Yoke with the Office Coordinator to develop and maintain a reliable process for room assignments, setups, AV equipment, and other event support through the Planning Center.
- Order and manage cleaning supplies, replacement parts, and maintenance materials inventory within budget.
- Serve as the primary point of contact, work a flexible schedule for facility‑related emergencies, including occasional evenings and/or weekends.
- Interface with vendors and contractors for services and repairs involving plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, and other equipment.
- Create and manage an “Out of Service” and “Service Request” reporting system for staff to request timely maintenance support.
- Manage the facilities budget, approve related purchases, and process invoices.
- Yoke with the Executive Pastor to report on facility projects—budgeted and un‑budgeted—and contribute to annual planning and budgeting processes.
- Initiate, Empower, and Send a volunteer Facilities Team to assist with special projects (painting, cleanup days, minor repairs, etc.).
- Yoke with the IT Manager to uphold the church’s contract and service quality with Frontier Communications and other facility‑related vendors.
- Develop and maintain a proactive maintenance schedule for all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Security and Safety Oversight:
Supervise the Security and Safety Teams to ensure a visible and effective presence during services, meetings, and events. - Interface with alarm service providers to troubleshoot and resolve security system issues.
- Ensure all cameras, alarm systems, and related equipment are functioning at all times; schedule repairs as needed to minimize vulnerability.
- Oversee the distribution and management of keys, access cards, and entry codes for staff and essential volunteers.
- Yoke with the Business Administrator to ensure full compliance with the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP) and Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP).
- Collaborate with the Security Team to develop and implement threat prevention protocols, including active‑shooter and de‑escalation plans.
